CAL - Special Advantages:

  • For operating temperatures from -40°C to +110°C.
  • For design temperatures from -50°C to +120°C.
  • High plasticity and flexibility.
  • Electrically insulating and diffusion-tight.
  • No surface preheating required.

PEWOTAPE-CAL is a cold-applied corrosion protection tape based on polymer-modified petrolatum.
PEWOTAPE-CAL consists of an impregnated polyester fabric coated on both sides with a corrosion-resistant layer." PEWOTAPE-CAL is coated with petrolatum compound. The petrolatum compound is stabilized by polymer additives, thus enabling operating temperatures of up to +110°C. PEWOTAPE-CAL exhibits exceptionally high peel strength for petrolatum tapes, even at elevated temperatures, and displays good flexibility and conformability. Furthermore, PEWOTAPE-CAL features a PP film laminated on one side, which prevents the protective compound from being washed out, e.g., by rising and falling groundwater. PEWOTAPE-CAL is wound around the pipe in a spiral pattern with the film side facing outwards, with an overlap of at least 50%. PEWOTAPE-CAL is ideally suited for wrapping pipelines and pipe fittings that carry hot media or are located in warm environments. PEWOTAPE-CAL can also be applied to surfaces that are not preheated. At surface temperatures below +50°C, the surface is first coated. with the PEWOTAPE-CAL Primer, an easily applied petrolatum compound that ensures rapid and complete surface coverage and good adhesion to the PEWOTAPE-CAL tape.
